Christ for the Crisis is a 501 (C) 3 nonprofit organization, organized in Lake Charles, Louisiana in 2007. The organization was established due to the lack of permanent placement for Foster Care youth. It later became instrumental in addressing the needs of youth and young adults in crisis within the community.
Last year, in our region, approximately 43% of children entering the foster care system were teenagers. Many of the youth in our community have visited the youth detention center or even have criminal records with the District Attorney's office or police department.
Today's youth are in dire need of services and our community has been greatly impacted. CFTC helps prevent our local youth from entering or reentering the foster care system, youth detention center or the Calcasieu Parish Alternative school (for children with behavioral problems) by providing services and resources for youth and family in crisis.
Christ for the Crisis (CFTC) believes every youth and young adult should thrive in life.
Every youth, regardless of their circumstances, should have the opportunity to live a productive life.
To provide therapeutic, transitional homes and supportive services for youth in crisis.
