Youth 15-24 should have the opportunity to seek and live productive lives. crisis center for teens
Christ for the Crisis is a community organization, organized in Lake Charles, Louisiana in 2007. The organization was established due to the lack of permanent placement for Foster Care youth. It later became instrumental in addressing the needs of youth and young adults in crisis within the community.
Last year, in our region, approximately 43% of those entering the foster care system were teenagers.
Today's youth are in dire need of services and our community has been greatly impacted. CFTC helps prevent our local youth from multiple crises such as entering the foster care system, youth detention centers, becoming victims of human trafficking, early parenthood or those with debilitating mental health. We support our youth and their families through mentoring, community outreach events and resources through our community partnerships. In the near future CFTC will also operate transitional homes and training centers for youth.
Christ for the Crisis (CFTC) believes every youth and young adult should thrive in life and it is our responsibility to give them the necessary tools.
