Our Programs

Unity in the Community Initiative

CFTC serves the Wiley B. McMillin Center in Lake Charles by offering: community outreach events, education, parenting programs which feature seminars and workshops. 

Community Revitalization Collaborative

In  over 10 years of servicing the McMillin Center community we have identified 3 areas of concern.

       . Socio-economic 

       . Family engagement

       . Parent participation


We address these concerns through the Community Revitalization Collaborative. CFTC, along with community partners, provide programs and services to address the need of the community. Our collaborators include:

  1. ABC Pregnancy Resource  Ctr 
  2. American Job Center
  3. Pink Life          
  4. Goodwill
  5. Single Mothers of America

                 6.  Brotha & Sista Mentoring 

                 7.  Youth Empowerment Society

                 8.  Literacy Council

                 9.  SWLA Center for Health Services 

               10.  Beyond Words, Inc.

Transitional Housing

Due to lack of permanent housing for youth & youth in crisis, CFTC will provide therapeutic transitional housing. The home will provide the following: 

  • Mental health programs
  • Education
  • Personal Coaching
  • Job training

Who do you serve? 

Youth ages 15 to 24 


Do your services cost money ? 

No, our services are free to the recipients and their families.


How are your programs funded?

Programs and services are funded by your donations, fundraising and sponsors.  Services are also rendered by our agency partnerships.  


How do you staff the organization?

We mainly staff via volunteers in order to keep the overhead cost low.  Volunteer programs we have utilized are AmeriCorps, Experience Works.
